Research
My research interests broadly encompass promoting access to healthy development in low income, ethnically and racially minoritized populations, as well as social justice initiatives and policies that support this goal. Currently, my research centers around the transmission of extra-familial stress to intra-familial processes and the social determinants of child development.

Current Research
In collaboration with Dr. Margaret Caughy and the team for the Dallas Project on Education Pathways (formerly the Dallas Preschool Readiness Project; DPREP), I am examining youth development and parent-child relationships in 300+ low-income Black/African American and Hispanic/Latinx families as the children transition to middle school. Through examination of the individual characteristics of the child, parenting behaviors, neighborhood and other contextual factors, the project seeks to understand factors that enhance the academic achievement, mental health, and well-being for these youth.
Job Description
In my role as data manager for the Social Determinants of Child Development (SDCD) Lab, I manage and clean raw data sets for the Dallas Project on Education Pathways (DPREP; an 8-wave longitudinal study), calculate scale scores for measures, mentor research assistants on data analysis, create data sets for team members seeking to conduct analyses, and multiply impute missing estimates (by chained equations; MICE) using the PCAux package in R.
