Fashion Merchandising with emphasis in Product Development and Design

Activities/Honors

I served as the Fashion Design Director for three semesters (Fall 2023 - Fall 2024) and as a Stylist for five semesters at Strike Magazine. In these roles, I collaborated closely with the Casting Director, Styling Director, Creative Director, and Editor-in-Chief. I designed custom, one-of-a-kind garments tailored to each concept and provided guidance to fellow designers, assisting them with their concept teams. Additionally, I contributed designs for the BOLD 2022 and 2023 fashion shows, where I had the opportunity to showcase my original pieces and styled looks. I will be graduating with Magna Cum Laude honors.

Why I chose my major

I chose my major because I've always been drawn to fashion. As a little girl, I would spend hours playing in my mother's closet, helping her style outfits. My grandmothers, both talented seamstresses, also played a significant role in guiding me through the process of design and garment construction. This foundation eventually led me to discover my true passion for fashion design. From the moment I took my first fashion class at the University of Georgia, Fundamentals of Fashion Merchandising, I knew that this was the path I was meant to follow.

What I like most about FACS

What I love most about FACS is the hands-on experience offered through our classes. In courses like CAD and garment construction/sewing, I developed a deep passion for the design process, and FACS has given me the opportunity to fully explore that. I've especially appreciated the creative freedom my professors have allowed me to have in my classes, which has been incredibly inspiring.

Post-graduation plans

I am currently applying for designer roles across the country.
