- Why I chose my major
I chose the Fashion Merchandising major because fashion has always felt like a form of storytelling to me—one shaped by memory, place, and the small visual details that define who we are. Studying within FACS has allowed me to explore the cultural and consumer side of those stories, while my studies in Graphic Design & Fine Art help me craft the visual language behind them. It’s the combination of both that lets me create work grounded in meaning, identity, and design. As soon as I took the Fundamentals of Fashion Merchandising class in 2022, I knew that this was the path I was meant to follow.
- What I like most about FACS
What I adore most about FACS is the people: the professors, advisors, students, and the entire community who bring it to life. The professors are knowledgeable, kind, and endlessly supportive, serving as mentors who celebrate curiosity and push you to think bigger. Even as a double major in two separate colleges, FACS felt like home. It’s a tight-knit, creative environment where every class, project, and conversation is meaningful. FACS has also provided me with the means to study abroad in Cortona, Italy, and study disciplines like Trend Forecasting and UX/UI Design Fundamentals in Fashion Branding—experiences that have inspired me tremendously. Overall, FACS is a place where your passions are nurtured and your growth is celebrated.
- Post-graduation plans
After graduation, I plan to pursue a career at the intersection of fashion and branding. I am currently applying for design jobs and opportunities in Atlanta, while continuing to cultivate hobbies and experiences that fuel my creativity and inspiration.
