Dietetics, Consumer Foods, 2018

Current occupation/Location

Performance Dietitian, U.S. Army, 101st  Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)

What has been your proudest accomplishment since graduating?

Graduating from the U.S. Military Master's Program in Nutrition which has allowed me to serve as an active duty dietitian, serving our soldiers and service members and helping to improve their readiness through nutrition.

What was your favorite class in FACS?

Food Principles Lab-who doesn’t love to make and eat bread during class?

Did you have a favorite – or most memorable – faculty member?

Dr. Tracey Brigman and Dr. Ginnfer Cox were instrumental to my career development at FACS

How do you think FACS prepared you for your career success?

My time at FACS went above and beyond at preparing me for my future. The curriculum for dietetics includes thing I still use in my practice today! But FACS is so much more! The people are what make the college, and those that I met still are great friends and mentors today!

What inspires or motivates you?

Being in the Army, and a part of the historic 101st Airborne Division, I get to work with some of the U.S. Army’s greatest soldiers. Day in and day out, I am inspired and motivated by their success and accomplishments as they voluntarily support and defend our freedoms. I’m honored to be even just a small part of their careers!

What advice would you give a current FACS student looking to pursue a career in your field?

Take a deep breath! Being in school and worrying about the next steps was daunting, but if you have a path chosen, then stop worrying about the decision and take action.
