Why I chose my program

Nutrition is such an exciting field of study and the coursework has always fascinated me. The Nutritional Sciences department has so many diverse areas of nutrition to study as well as many professors who are leading experts in their field. I love the collaboration and teamwork within the nutrition department; we are able to learn from each other weekly in seminar and the ideas generated there as well as the problem-solving discussions that occur are incredibly useful and intellectually rewarding.

What I like most about FACS

It feels like family.  Everyone is inviting, engaging and kind. I have made wonderful life-long friendships. The support has been incredible and I truly admire my professional colleagues.  The professors are encouraging, enthusiastic, and have a contagious passion for nutrition research and education. I am proud to call FACS home.

Post-graduation plans

I will continue my career as a registered dietitian at the University of Georgia, expanding nutrition research in collegiate dining through UGA Dining Services and continuing partnerships across campus to enhance nutrition research and education efforts across campus.  My research has given me lot of ideas that I can use professionally and I am excited to increase the opportunities for the dining commons to be a learning lab through partnering with campus chefs and other health professionals to offer culinary nutrition education for student growth.
