- Why I chose my major
When I first came to UGA, I came in with a journalism major. During this time, I worked on a campus newspaper. While writing an article, I stumbled across an organization whose mission was to connect UGA students and the Athens community with fresh produce to improve health. This article piqued my interest in healthcare and nutritional sciences because I became fascinated about how the food we consume can affect health overall. Once I decided to pursue becoming a physician assistant, I was interested in having a background in nutrition so I would be able to participate in multidisciplinary care along with dietitians to improve health through diet.
- What I like most about FACS
My favorite thing about FACS is the faculty. The professors and staff are also ready to guide, support and push you forward in your career. The empathy and passion for teaching students is something I will hold close to my heart as I continue on to the next chapter in my life. I am incredibly grateful for all of the connections and support FACS has given me, and I cannot be prouder of graduating from this college.
- Post-graduation plans
Following graduation, I will move to Houston, Texas, to pursue my master's of physician assistant studies at Baylor College of Medicine. I am excited to apply all of the patient-centered care techniques I have learned in FACS and use them in my career.
