- What do you love about your current role?
Creativity, unpredictability and flexibility
- How did your time at FACS help prepare you for your life or career?:
Well-rounded education and exposure to many different types of students and professors with varied experiences and backgrounds.
- What is one memorable experience you had as a student in FACS?
My most memorable experience was definitely the internship course with Dr. Anne Sweaney. We were able to learn so much from our real-world experience and get college credit for it as well! The students were all highly energized and able to share their wide array of experiences with one another.
- How do you stay connected to UGA or the FACS community?
I have managed to stay very connected with FACS for over 20 years since graduating. The college has done an excellent job in recognizing my successes since graduating. I’ve been able to hire former FACS graduates as interns who were recommended to me by faculty. I was also nominated for the Emily Quinn Pou Professional Achievement Award and was named the recipient as well. It’s been a joy to see all of the various leadership from FACS cheer my business on during the Bulldog 100 celebrations. we would always have a good time at those celebrations.
I’ve been honored to be able to come back to Athens for speaking engagements a couple of times and also talk to perspective entrepreneurs from FACS. Finally, I've been able to give and support to the Sweaney Innovation Fund as well. There has always been an awesome connection I have had with not only the former dean and department heads, but now I have really enjoyed more recent relationships with our current dean, Dean Anisa Zvonkovic; and other great FACS leaders such as Swarn Chatterjee, Suzanne Griffeth, Cal Powell, and Jayme Bolding, and I have never lost touch with Dr. Sweaney, who is a dear friend to this day.
