FACS Convocation is Thursday, Dec. 12 at the Georgia Center. I thank the staff who have been such stalwart volunteers for our event. Please note that we switched to a Thursday event so that students and faculty (and deans!) are able to attend the university commencement ceremonies as well. If you can’t attend, the ceremony will be livestreamed via our YouTube channel beginning at 2:30 p.m. You can view the program here. Finally, I hope you’ll take some time to read about some of our amazing featured graduates. It’s clear from reading their stories that our college has made a tremendous impact.
The David Ralston Center for Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities will be dedicated this Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Georgia Center. This dedication has been planned to occur when the state legislators are here on campus for the Biennial Institute for Georgia Legislators. We’re excited to see this center taking shape!
We are eager to move forward with the hires that were approved through Presidential Hiring Initiatives. Please know that the tracking we will be asking for very frequently is due to the president and provost’s keen interest in ensuring these hires get made. It’s wonderful to know the broader university understands and affirms the importance of the work we do in FACS.
Keep an eye out for our FACS of Today newsletter on Friday for more news and features and know that I wish each of you a wonderful semester break!
