Spain

Spend a week in Spain exploring how children’s hospitals and care teams support pediatric well‑being around the world. On this study away, you’ll visit children’s hospitals and other psychosocial care settings, learning firsthand how professionals care for children and families during medical experiences. You’ll also meet inspiring programs that use creativity, play, and connection to promote healing. Through site visits, conversations with care providers, and guided reflection, this experience offers a unique opportunity to see pediatric psychosocial care in action while gaining a global perspective on child well‑being.

Only open to first-year students. This experience will offer students the opportunity to take a 1 credit hour course taught by UGA faculty in an international setting, while engaging in other activities that supplement the academic course. Students will travel during the week – Friday evening through Sunday – of a regularly scheduled UGA Spring Break. This will be for many students the first opportunity to travel abroad, and the programs are organized in safe and appealing locations to students where they can enjoy their time abroad and focus on academics and cultural learning.
