Georgia Soft Goods Education Foundation

Let us help you reach your goals through scholarships, networking connections, and events.

What is GSGEF?

We work in close collaboration with product development the Dean and Faculty of the School of Family & Consumer Sciences to support UGA's aspiring fashion professionals. The Georgia Soft Goods Education Foundation funds Professorship, Scholarships, Study Abroad Programs, and other academic initiatives by the faculty. We also facilitate student networking for internships and post-graduation employment in fields like design, product-development, merchandising, sourcing, retailing, logistics, and quality control.

Our work is funded by a trust. Additionally, we host new events to help students build community and connect with industry professionals, enhancing their educational and career opportunities. The Foundation is governed by an open membership Board of Directors who meet twice annually at the University.

Student Highlights

Amanda Kinsely-Medina

Without the scholarship I would not have been able to take the trip [to Peru] at all...It was an experience I will never forget and it introduced me to a culture and an industry that has a refreshing stewardship approach to the enviornment. I have truly come to be a believer in the benefits of alpaca wool
