    Food Talk

    Food Talk is a series of six interactive classes that feature tools and ideas for making healthier food, nutrition, and physical activity choices on a budget. Each 60 minute class features a cooking demonstration and tasting of 2 simple delicious recipes. Participants receive a take home extender related to each lesson, and receive a certificate of completion at the end of the course.

  • Food Talk Better U

    Food Talk Better U

    Food Talk: Farmers Market is a modified version of the Food Talk curriculum designed for Farmers Markets across the state. This consists of eight sessions that focus on planning meals on a budget and using locally grown, seasonal produce.

    These classes include a cooking demonstration, tasting session, and free extenders for participants.

    Food Talk: Better U is a series of four classes geared toward nutrition, physical activity, and obesity prevention. Each  ninety-minute class keeps you moving with interactive physical activities, a cooking demonstration, and taste testing.

    Participants receive a take home booklet, an extender related to the lesson, and at the end receive a certificate of completion.

    Food eTalk: Better U is the online version of the Food Talk: Better U curriculum, teaching participants about small nutrition and physical activity changes you can make to improve your well-being.

Social Marketing

SNAP-Ed's Social Marketing utilizes print media, and popular online communication channels to provide information designed to educate Georgians and influence voluntary positive behavior changes. Social Marketing can be found on:

For the past three years, The Partnership for Healthy America and UGA SNAP-Ed joined forces to get Georgians to eat more fruits and veggies. Fresh, frozen, canned and dried — The Partnership for a Healthier America united every type of fruit and veggie under the FNV brand. FNV is harnessing the power of marketing to promote fruits and veggies in the same way big brands market their products.

Policy, Systems, and Environment (PSE)

PSE interventions often seek to effect an environment (like a grocery store or a school) so that healthy choices are more practical and readily available. Healthy Child Care Georgia (HCCG) is a multi-level intervention to help early care and education (ECE) programs improve practices to reduce children’s risk of obesity through a combination of policy changes and direct education for teachers, children, and families. ECE programs in Healthy Child Care Georgia are working to make environmental and policy changes related to nutrition and physical activity. The teachers in these programs are also implementing a 6-week age-appropriate curriculum to teach nutrition and physical activity to 3- to 5-year-olds, and are involving the families of these children through weekly newsletters and take-home family backpacks. The project is currently focused in Clarke County, Georgia.
