Why I chose my major

My personal/medical journey and love for cooking is what led me into the field of dietetics. I knew I always wanted to pursue a career in a field where I could make a lasting impact on others' lives. I love the idea of providing nutrition education to people in a society that is filled with much misinformation. My goal is to share my love of cooking and expertise in the nutrition field with others to show people just how simple and enjoyable a balanced lifestyle can be.

What I like most about FACS

My favorite parts about FACS are the people and the connections I have built. I have been so lucky to find a community that genuinely has your best interests in mind. Dr. Laing and Dr. Brigman have been nothing but supportive and have helped me grow not only as a student but as a person as well. The dietetics field is special in itself and these classes have really shown me what it is like to care for such a vast community. I have built so many friendships that I am so grateful for through this program, and it really does feel like home.

Post-graduation plans

After graduation, I will finish up my master’s degree in Community Nutrition at UGA by Summer of 2025 and start my dietetic internship in the fall. I hope to be able to complete my dietetic internship by Fall of 2026 and become a Registered Dietitian.
